Frequently Asked Questions:

Art Matters Studio is Central Pennsylvania’s premier private arts studio. We believe that art does matter! We provide expert art instruction for artists ages 2-adult in a safe and encouraging environment. Our mission is to enhance creativity in people of all ages and experience levels.

The studio’s ever expanding schedule includes a large variety of art classes for children and adults, including fine art classes, workshops, art camps, and more. Students develop art skills and technique and gain confidence to explore their own creative vision. Class sizes are kept small so that students receive individualized instruction. Students are encouraged to bring their own interpretation to assignments.

You may also schedule private classes and lessons for individuals or groups. These are available both at the studio or on site through our “Art on the Go” program where we bring our instructors, tools and materials directly to you!

For children, our Arty Parties are a creative way to celebrate birthdays and other special events. For adults, painting parties are a popular choice for birthdays, family reunions, work parties and social groups. Art and Wine Parties are popular bookings for bachelorette parties, birthdays, girls’ nights out and more. You can choose one of our themes or we can create a custom themed party just for you!

Our instructors have art education and other college degrees, or are studying fine arts, art education and/or early childhood education. All of our instructors believe that everyone can benefit from creative experience and that artistic expression can be nurtured and taught. We teach in a positive and encouraging manner and love working with artists of all experience levels. All instructors have Pennsylvania child certification clearances.

If a student is sick, we ask that they not attend class. Our materials are shared among many and we do not want other students and staff members to get sick unnecessarily. We ask that you inform the studio at least one (1) hour or more (preferably early) before class time if the student is staying home sick.

If the student is sick and we have been informed at least one (1) hour before class time, the student may attend an alternate “make up class” of a comparable time on a Saturday with no guarantee of same project. Last minute cancellations (less than an hour before class time) are not eligible for a make-up class. If the student misses a class due to forgetting, disinterest, social engagement or family vacation there will be no refund or make-up class offered.

Art Matters Studio follows the cancellation policy of the Manheim Township School District. All regular programming will be cancelled for the day if school is closed. The message on the answering machine will be changed when classes are cancelled. If the weather clears, the studio may open for Open Art Time.
